Adventure #1: Three Americans and the Bakery lady

Despite our maybe total of one hour of sleep as soon as we got settled in the hotel Anthony, Sarah and I wanted to go for walk and explore the town. We had absolutely no map or any idea where we were going but that’s the fun of it right?!? First we peaked into the University across the street, where Anthony was excited to see that Germans do  math just like us. :O Wow! Lol. Then we proceeded on. Snapping pictures of buildings and video taping our walk, honestly we couldn’t have looked anymore like tourists if we tried but we didn’t care, we were just so excited to actually be there.
So on to the main point of this post: the Bakery Lady. The poor, poor Bakery Lady. This was our first experience with a language barrier since all the airports had signs and announcements in English. Well in we walk cameras in hand and Anthony begins talking to the lady. She clearly had no idea what he was saying and likewise for us. So Fact: not everyone in Germany speaks English (or will speak English). Good to know. But nonetheless, besides freaking out the bakery lady it was a successful stop since Anthony got this big pastry with chocolate in the center. It looked delish!
So we proceeded on with our little adventure. It wasn’t long till we realized that we weren’t exactly sure where we were or which direction we needed to walk to get back. But not a problem, after spending pretty much all day sitting on a plane a nice long walk (even if you don’t’ know where you are going) is perfect! So by now we had been walking for about 40 mins. Since we didn’t know which way to go, we turned around and walked back.
